Rebuilding

Since there is not a whole lot of people who sign up, may I suggest you go to ADSA and sign-up. Feel free to choose any option: food provision, clean up, etc. We do not have to volunteer as a class. I will forward to them the names I have. Thanks.

Sci 10 grading

Sci 10 AA
Exam 1 (essay) [100]
Exam 2 (debate) [100]
Quizzes [100]
Progress report [8 x 2]
Group Orals [100]

Optional:
Reflection Paper [100]
Photo Competition [100]

By default, your grades will be over 416. If you choose one extra work, it will be over 516; if two, 616. All the optional work is risk free, meaning, if the grade you will get with your optional work is lower than your current standing, your current grade will be considered. If you get a higher grade, then well and good. Since this is risk free, I strongly encourage you to join the volunteer work because you will learn something new and you will grow in a different way.

Reflection Paper:
1. Do a volunteer clean up work at Provident village or any activity you will choose based on Dr. Cuyegkeng’s memo
2. write a two page reflection paper, double spaced, NTR size 12
3. write about: what you learned from the volunteer work, insights, your thoughts on how we can prepare for natural disasters, how can science provide the tools to carry this out
4. paper is due on: October 15, 2009

Photo competition:
This will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday next week. Please contact Boris for details. The grading will be finalized soon.

If you will volunteer for the clean-up, you need to sign up with Ms Gina Mamauag or Boris ASAP. The meeting place is at the bleachers of LS pool at 8:30 AM this Friday, we will head back at 3 PM. I emailed the details separately. Since we will be leaving on Friday, we will not meet. We will meet on Monday and Wednesday instead.

Rebuilding efforts

Hi all.
I am trying to mobilize the all my students to go
or join the rebuilding efforts. We are choosing between Friday or
Monday for the clean-up. Since a lot of the students will be having
their exams next week, the best day is this Friday.

For Sci 10 and Ch 21, there will be a sign up sheet with Boris and with Ms. Gina Mamauag (CH 112) at Schmitt Hall. No classes on Friday, we will meet on Monday instead. Please let the others know.

I have attached the file given by Ms. Joy Salita of OAS. Here are the
details for the clean-up:
830 am – briefing
9 am – departure for area
3 pm – departure for ateneo
5ish – wash down and debriefing
Assembly area: LS Swimming Pool bleachers (let’s meet there,
transportation will be provided)

What to wear/bring:
Wear working clothes (shirt and maong pants)
Wear rubber boots
Bring complete change of clothes
Bring workgloves, masks
Bring food, water, towels

We will need the headcount by tomorrow because we need to process this through ADAA.

Thanks, I hope you will be able to join us since we are not having our final exams (SCI 10). :)
